Max has been working with the neurodivergent community for over 15 years, and the longer they work alongside this community, the more evidence they have that they are value-adding employees to any business. Max has successfully set up 3 vocational training centres and modelled 11 inclusive and sustainable social businesses including coffee shops, bakeries, eco shops, and a business service centre. Max believes strongly in demonstrating the sustainability of inclusive businesses in order to change the narrative around disability, and to empower the business community to replicate these models. In 2019, Max was listed as one of the top 50 young leaders shaping the future of Asia. Steps was honoured with the International Provision of the Year Award by the prestigious National Association for Special Educational Needs (UK).

HS Learning Support Teacher – International School Bangkok
Philip Bowman is a learning support specialist at International School Bangkok, with 17 years of classroom experience. Philip is an innovative teacher-researcher who prioritizes relationships, research, and design thinking in the classroom. In September of 2022, the National Association for Special Education Needs (NASEN) published a peer-reviewed study co-authored by Universal Design for Learning (UDL) expert Dr. Katie Novak. The 6-year retrospective study places the efficacy of Philip’s uniquely structured approach to one-to-one learning conversations in the top 5% of educational interventions. He is also the Co-founder & CEO of MARIO Framework, a K-12 professional learning & edtech company operating in over 25 countries.
Nicole has been teaching in the international community for the past 10 years. She started her career teaching first grade in Kuwait and then moved to Dubai then on to Bangkok. She was a homeroom teacher for 5 years before making the transition into learning support. Nicole is currently part of the NIST teaching community working as a Y2 Learning Support Teacher and is the Learning Support Coordinator across the school. She has a strong passion for inclusive education, student-centered teaching, collaboration and lifelong learning.

Anna left a career in banking in London to move to Thailand almost 25 years ago, where she’s developed and pursued a passionate interest in all aspects of education. Throughout that time, she has taken an active role in many different charitable organisations including currently being a board member of LEAP (a support and advocacy group for parents of students with learning challenges) for over five years. Now a mother of two teenagers, Anna’s focus on the last decade has included being a PTA board member and president and a board member of an international school.

I’m Nicky, I’ve been working at Steps since July 2016 as a trainee. My current role here includes office assistant which includes scanning, printing and laminating, making PDF forms, making documents, making sheets and making monthly newsletter for Steps. I like working at Steps because it is a very nice environment and comfortable place to work.
